This Thursday, Thomas Eleizegui from Vancouver’s Musette Caffe will join Krys Hines from Café Domestique and Andrew Randell from Jet Fuel Coffee at McMaster for a session on coffee and bikes. I’m excited at the prospect of merging two of my favourite things into one afternoon, but also especially interested in learning more about them from the café proprietor’s experiences—how the bike-theme works for these cafés and about the traditional relationship between bicycles and cafés. Cafés needn’t be bike-themed to draw cyclists, of course, but we seem to be witnessing a sea-change in urban experiences and a return to bicycle motility. This session, moderated by Dan Dakin of Canadian Cycling magazine, will explore a number of these questions and the growing culture that encompasses la vie vélo. Details in the two posters below.
