It’s the title of the blog, but also the title of a book series I edit for the MIT Press. I’ll post more about the series, which is just getting underway, but it solicits scholarly manuscripts that treat the history of contemporary environmental issues as a means of providing critical context to current debates. The editorial board includes Peter S. Alagona (UC Santa Barbara), Benjamin R. Cohen (Lafayette College), and Adam Sowards (U. Idaho). One of the most stimulating features of the work so far has been staying in regular touch and conversation with three friends.
On an early proposal, I added a picture of an ant just to spruce things up. For me, anyway, the ant has come to symbolize or represent the series, much to Cohen’s chagrin. I add it here. Just because.
